HW Engineering Lead – NPI & Production (Hardware & Electronics JB-6407)
A growing deep-tech defense company (~50 employees) is looking for a hands-on Engineering Team Lead to drive the transition of advanced sensing systems from R&D to mass production. This is a key leadership role for an experienced engineer who grew from hardware development (electronics / boards / FPGA / embedded) and has evolved into leading end-to-end engineering processes — from prototype to a robust, production-ready system. This is a key role within a small, high-quality engineering team. We are looking for someone with a strong development background who can dive deep into the technical aspects of the system, while also taking full ownership of the “messy” parts of the job – leading the challenges of productization and scaling. What you will do: End-to-End (E2E) Engineering Responsibility: Lead the transfer to production process from R&D through to mass production and real-world deployment. Integration & Validation: Perform system integration, validation, and qualification for complex multidisciplinary systems (Hardware, Software, Mechanics, and Electro-optics). Manufacturing Leadership: Work closely with subcontractors and the manufacturing line, drive engineering changes (ECOs), and ensure compliance with strict industry standards and regulations. Troubleshooting: Solve complex problems at the intersection of HW, SW, and mechanics, owning the process of turning a complex prototype into a robust, production-ready product.
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering – mandatory Strong background in hardware development (electronics / board design / FPGA / embedded) Proven experience leading NPI / Transfer to Production / Mass Production of integrated systems Hands-on experience with engineering changes (ECOs) and working with manufacturing environments Deep system-level understanding and ability to work across R&D, manufacturing, and quality Strong hands-on approach with the ability to dive into technical details Experience leading or managing a small engineering team Nice to have Background as a classical hardware engineering lead (grown from hands-on development) Experience with ATE / testing / validation environments Experience in defense or other regulated industries Experience with sensing / electro-optical systems
